Description

Visible Sound is an artistic exploration of computer generated Cymatic patterns using both electronic media and print. Depending on boundary conditions and the driving frequency, different patterns emerge in the excitatory medium. In this project, audio reactive visualization is generated by mapping the dominant frequency of a sound source to vibration modes of a 2-D Chladni plate. Visible Sound started as a course project from MAT 200C Pattern Formation taught by Professor Theodore Kim in 2012.
