Description

Just because we are in the digital age doesn't mean we can't represent computing on a canvas! "Processed" represents the fast paced digital society of today, and the foundation of logic that modern devices are built on.

"Processed" is an acrylic painting, on a 24"x36" canvas. AND gates, OR gates, NOT gates, Multiplexers (MUXes), and Arithmetic Logic Units (ALUs) are the building blocks for a computer processor, and I depict them using their theoretical representations. I wanted this painting to look "fast" to represent today's fast paced technological society, so I made the pieces look like they are in an infinite waterfall of shapes, moving as quickly as a stream of data. From a computer scientist's perspective, the painting even looks as if it is moving to the right, since that is the way logic flows through each shape in a computer processor. "Processed" breaks technology down to a bare-bones description in order to emphasize the importance of the foundation of logic that modern devices are built on.
