Description

Development, like traffic, needs to be highly regulated. Some cellular activities are activated while others are repressed to prevent chaos and malformation. In the lab, we study the genetic regulations during gut development and how organs maintain their identities throughout development.

The image shows the borders of gut cells during early embryonic development, starting from four gut cells to an elongated gut, in nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. The image was acquired using the Eclipse Ti-E Inverted Microscope and processed using ImageJ.
