In the words of Oscar Wilde, "Life imitates art far more than art imitates life." Depicted is a recolored confocal image of two pancras organoids that have enabled researchers to model the human pancreas. This piece playfully imitates a childhood favorite, Pac-Man, but on the micron scale.
This piece was captured using a confocal laser scanning microscope with cell-cell boundaries labeled using a fluorescent probe. To the artist, this piece represents the sense of fun, curiosity, and levity that filled his graduate career.
