Meta-gratings are nanophotonic structures that deflect light through engineering at sub-wavelength scales. In this work GaN was etched to form a forest of square-shaped posts with periodically varying dimensions. A progressive stacking of SEM images is suggestive of a recursive structural metaphor. The nano-structures were fabricated through electron beam lithography and reactive-ion-etching of a GaN thin-film. Images were taken using a scanning electron microscope. Post-processing and false-coloring was performed using Adobe Photoshop.
