Description

I have been interested in scientific illustration, which communicates between scientists and an audience. I use art to show a few local species that can be seen off shore and in tidepools in the Santa Barbara area. I hope to use my art as a means to communicate my love for these species to others.

In my piece I chose to display six species of marine mollusks, mostly gastropods, as a display of scientific illustration as a means to identify local species. I work at the REEF on campus and frequently use my art to aid in education about marine science. I created the work using Paint Tool SAI and Photoshop, as well as an Intuos pen and touch digital drawing tablet.
