Microtubules transport materials inside a cell, with the help of molecular motors and ATP. Reconstructed in vitro, microtubules sliding along each other form nematic order in constant chaotic motion. A magnetic disk is fabricated by lithography and embedded in microtubules to measure the forces. The image is acquired by Leica TCS SP8 Confocal microscope and processed in Matlab.
