Description

The surface of the four-dimensional ball can be covered in a beautifully symmetric collection of circles. This simulation of a 3-dimensional shadow of some of these circles shows how they link with one another. This image was produced in mathematica by rendering equidistant tubes around the fibers of the Hopf map from the S^3 to S^2 and then sterographically projecting the resulting thin tori into R^3.
