Harnessing the power of light enables new chemical transformations at the interface of polymer and organic synthesis. 

In the Hawker and Read de Alaniz groups, we use an array of different photocatalysts to open doors to new reaction pathways in the areas of polymer and organic synthesis. Illustrated here, are state of the art photocatalysts that efficiently transfer light energy into the energy needed to initiate various chemical processes otherwise unaccessible through traditional methods.
