This is a picture of a dying dart frog (Dendrobates tinctorius) during an experiment Fall 2017. The frog sits on the edge of the tank, and its posture mimics the piece of shed skin on the wall.
I took this picture as a reference for skin shed during an experiment I was conducting regarding animal behavior and disease. The picture was meant to be used as a reminder of the shedding, or a figure in a manuscript, but I thought the shed and the frog's posture mimicked each other, which was an interesting feature of the picture. I took the picture on my iPhone 7, but I feel like you can still capture the vibrant color of the frog nicely, even through the tank walls.
