Description

Coastal Balance Beach front property, whether to the mind of home-owner or snowy plover, is of incredible value. Erosion is an immediate threat to coastlines around Santa Barbara, the complexities of which happens in complicatedly slow and fast events. Focusing on ecological topics like invasive species weakening cliff stability, and caring about climate change which impacts the erosion of cliffs, erosion can be decreased in the near and far future.

ZOOMING IN Aerial view of Santa Barbara coastline taken by drone for use in modeling erosion rates near Mesa Lane Beach. Thanks to increasingly cheaper technology, images like this can be taken, allowing for more efficient and effective research practices. This photo, taken on a DJI phantom 3 4k camera, captures erosion in its slow but steady process.
